Holiday Paper Boats

Holiday Paper Boats

December 18 | 1-5pm | In-Person | Wavertree | Free

Add to the holiday season festivities with this free, creative activity on the historic ship Wavertree during the neighborhood menorah lighting!

Enjoy the annual light parade that begins at 4pm, at the Seaport Ice Rink on Pier 16 and 17, and drop in for some seasonal fun in the newly restored, temperature-controlled Wavertree fo’c’sle, where families and guests of all ages will be invited to fold paper boats—great maritime decorations for the holiday—using colorful holiday paper.

This event is free, but please let us know that you’re coming by registering.

Please Note This is a Past Program, Event, or Activity

You are viewing an archived page for a program, event, or activity that has already taken place. In most cases these pages are no longer actively maintained and because of that may contain inaccurate or out-of-date information. The annual neighborhood Chanukah Menorah lighting is hosted by the Jewish Learning Experience, Chabad of Wall Street, and the Howard Hughes Corporation.

Come and enjoy festive music, ice skating, and performances by local artists and a children’s choir. Plenty of family-friendly activities will be a part of the celebration — Chanukah crafts, face painting, an ice menorah carving, and traditional treats.

The light parade begins at 4pm, traveling from the Seaport Ice Rink to the Heineken Riverdeck on the north side of Pier 17, where the new Seaport menorah, designed by Moully Art will be unveiled, and the traditional Menorah Lighting ceremony will take place. This year, local community activist, Paul Hovitz, will be recognized for his work in the Seaport & Lower Manhattan.
